Kria Brekkan

Kria follows up her wonderfully unexpected 7" from earlier this year with a creepy yet beautiful self-released CD-r. APOTROPAIOSONG ARMOUR, pulses with off kilter drones and the subtle clang of strings but as usual Brekkan's voice takes center stage with its otherworldly tones, this time wrapped into formless vocals that sound as if several condemned children are trying to break through from the other side. Minus the misstep with Avey in reverse, Kria's works are always captivating and this icy bit of experimental clamor is no different. The disc is extremely limited but the capable staff over at Other Music have a bit of a stash on their hands. I'd highly recommended picking one up.
