A chip off the Reatard Family springs up their own little piece of the pie on everybody's favorite - Goner Records.

	The Barbaras - Summertime Road 7" Well they might not quite have their leader's penchant for pop genius but Billie & Stephen of The Boston Chinks/ Jay Reatard's band still have a knack for melodic garage pop. The namesake of this here 7" is a burnt piece of garage fuzz that
loses the melody in the production just a bit, but underneath that nasty row of fuzz boxes and tape hiss lies a 50's soul ringer that's been given a bit of an updated tour of Memphis' new class. The nicest ditty on this platter is probably the clean cut slice of blue-eyed soul, "Flow," but if you give the rest a good scrubbin', the doo-wop vox and jangle beat are a winning combination that show some great promise.
